What is The East Texas Consortium For Evidence-Based Practice?

The East Texas Consortium For Evidence-Based Practice (ETCEBP) is the result of a collaborative effort of a nursing program, an academic medical center, and eight acute care facilities to transform health care in northeast Texas through the application of evidence-based practice (EBP).
A gap has been identified  between what is known to be current and best  practice in an academic setting and  what is actually practiced in a direct care setting. Best practice has been demonstrated through scientific research to result in optimal patient outcomes, cost effective care, and increased job satisfaction for nurses.
ETCEBP proposes to bridge this gap through the developmentand implementation of an innovative education program that willmentor nurses as they learn to apply the principles of evidence-basedpractice to the patients they care for.  Our goal is to establishand sustain a culture of evidence-based practice to enhance the care ofour patients, and to give nurses the tools they need to increase theirexpertise in the application of evidence-based practice.
The goal of this web site is to provide nurses and other health care workers a mechanism to enhance their knowledge about EBP.
