What is the East Texas Consortium for Evidence-Based Practice (ETCEBP)?

The East Texas Consortium For Evidence-Based Practice (ETCEBP) is the result of a collaborative effort of a nursing program, an academic medical center, and eight acute care facilities to transform healthcare in northeast Texas through the application of evidence-based practice (EBP). 

A gap has been identified  between what is known to be current and best practice in an academic setting and  what is actually practiced in a direct care setting. Best practice has been demonstrated through scientific research to result in optimal patient outcomes, cost effective care, and increased job satisfaction for nurses. ETCEBP proposes to bridge this gap through the development and implementation of an innovative education program that will mentor nurses as they learn to apply the principles of evidence-based practice to the patients they care for.  Our goal is to establish and sustain a culture of evidence-based practice to enhance the care of our patients, and to give nurses the tools they need to increase their expertise in the application of evidence-based practice.
The goal of this web site is to provide nurses and other health care workers a mechanism to enhance their knowledge about EBP.
